The South Dakota Department of Transportation says the southbound I-190 off-ramp (Exit 1C) at Silver Street in Rapid City will be closed to traffic on Wednesday Dec. 2.
Access to Silver Street and the surrounding neighborhood will be maintained via Anamosa Street, or by West Omaha Street to 12th Street to Philadelphia Street by way of Founders Park Drive. A temporary gravel access road will be maintained during construction to accommodate access between Philadelphia Street and Silver Street.
Additionally, the connection between North Street and Silver Street under the existing bridge will be severed for construction of the new bridge structure.
Motorists are asked to pay attention to signs for detour routes and be aware of construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lanes. These closures will remain in place until the I-190 Interchange project completion, which is scheduled for July 2017.
